When it comes to an Austin fall mini-session for a fashion blogger, a few things will always be true – smiles will be photogenic, and the outfits to die for. When the sweet blogger‘s family brings their love and joy to the shoot, however, that’s when style becomes charming chic. Mama Nasreen and Ziem know one another from their mutual social media love; in fact, Nasreen has contributed her fashion expertise to posts here. Her ease on camera made shooting a breeze for our trusty photographer-in-chief Ziem.
Mama isn’t the only photogenic one of the Shahi bunch, though. Big brother and sister loved the camera too. They also impressed Ziem with their easygoing attitudes – it’s not every newly 7 year-old boy who happily goes along with (read: endures) a photo shoot! Whatever good nature or bribery was involved, it resulted in some keepsake worthy pictures.
Speaking of style, Nasreen and Ziem collaborated on the family’s oh-so-fashionable blush and navy outfits. This neutral scheme works well for either a holiday card or a framed photo at home, one of Ziem’s top tips for planning photo shoot outfits.
Last but not least, little sister Sophia proved the camera-shy one of the bunch. As always, though, Ziem brought her trademark Mary Poppins magic to the shoot, cajoling some smiles. Nasreen’s sister helped direct the kids’ attention from behind the scenes, which freed up Ziem’s assistant to take shots too. Also – who else? – the family dog from the previous mini session provided an invaluable assist. In fact, sweet Sophia, who is usually shy around dogs, not only chattered away throughout the shoot about the pooch, she fell asleep on the drive home still discussing her new doggy pal.
Fun, fashionable, and friendly, the Shahis make an Austin fall mini-session look easy. Ziem loves working with the charmingly chic Shahis and can’t wait for the next collaboration!
