Simpson Sisters' Portraits

One of the things I love most about my job is the opportunity I get to meet a person, or couple, and connect with them in the short amount of time we spend together. Today was a treat, I got to run around the beach and chat with the Simpson family. They were the most kind, loving, and beautiful people and their love for each other is so evident it makes you want to smile!

Elaina and Kalie were naturals in front of the camera…it made my job easy as pie. I loved how their flowy, baby blue dresses picked up the ocean hues and their curls added a bit of WOW to each photo. Thanks to Stacey for helping me keep curls out of the girls’ faces and also to Allen for keeping the bubbles flowing. I am so glad we were able to squeeze in this session before the return trip to Birmingham. Looking forward to family portraits next year!

Brianne's Senior Portraits

After speaking to Brianne and her mom, Sonya, on the phone last week I knew this was going be an awesome senior session. Not only was Sonya a good sport about traveling with her daughter after having surgery the day before, but both ladies stopped by the studio on the way in to meet me. I enjoyed visiting with them and it really helped lend me insight into Brianne’s true character….a fun and sassy young lady! Despite Hurricane Claudette’s coming ashore she was dead set on sunset portraits so we hit my favorite spot on the beach near Pier Park. We climbed, jumped, ran and drew in the sand; Brianne was up for it all. We had a surprise visit from two dolphins, mid-shoot, which added some excitement to our evening.

Sonya was so sweet and I enjoyed having her there as acting wardrobe/assistant/cheerleader. I look forward to speaking to Sonya and Brianne again in the spring about graduation announcements.

Alex Senior Portraits

Alex wanted photos for her sorority application which would reflect her personality and the town she grew up in. My immediate thought was sundress, beach, sand and pier. That we did, this morning, and here are a few of my favorites from the session.

Good luck at UCF, Alex!
