How is everyone in Austin enjoying the cloudburst and hail on this fine Monday? I’m snuggled up in bed, pouring over my favorite images from the Interianos’ family session.

As much as I enjoy elaborately styled or stunning on-location shoots at my clients’ request, I find myself partial to lifestyle portraits at home, namely ones with an interior full of vivid patterns and cozy textures + a backyard perfect for kid-friendly fun. Their casa was a natural place for capturing candid moments of their family of five.

I hope that in the not-so-distant future, they will look back on these images and relive this special time of sunny afternoons on the playscape, barefoot running on the gravel path in their amazing backyard, mean Easter egg hunts, and a comfortable bed for two where many long nights provided comfort for two + three kids and a dog.

I couldn’t resist sharing a heap of my favorites and I hope this sweet family session brings a little bit of much-needed sunshine to your somber Austin morning!

I love sleep, but I’ve learned to function on very little of it. Some things are worth sacrificing a bit of shut eye. Sunrise portrait sessions with charming little babies definitely top the list and little Miss E – so giggly and sweet – was the equivalent of a double expresso coffee this early morning. She even scored bonus points for having stylish and oh-so lovely parents in tow.

We are off to enjoy three {of five for the season} egg hunts this weekend with our very own little morning people. Happy Saturday!! A few favorites from earlier today…

{austin maternity portraits} The Toepfers

Here’s a family that knows how to have fun and it brings me a big dose of joy to be sharing a few{ish} favorites from their amazing maternity and family portrait session. I met Liv years ago through wedding photography and I was so delighted to finally have HER and not just her stunning brides and event designs in front of my camera.

You can tell by the glow on all their gorgeous faces they are ready for baby girl! Big Brother J has a whole lot of love to give — I sure hope she’s ready!!

I am also very excited to be the event photographer at her baby shower tomorrow. You’ll see all the fine details here soon!



{austin engagement} Natalie + Michael

After a whirlwind four days of nonstop SXSW and birthday coverage, I’ve been enjoying some down time with the littles before the fun picks right back up tomorrow where you’ll find me at Willie Nelson’s Ranch. Thanks, Liv by Design, for having me!!

I am finally getting around to sharing my favorites from a recent engagement shoot, set against a few fun Austin backdrops and featuring a couple who couldn’t be any sweeter even if they tried. I don’t think I’ve had clients more soft-spoken or kind than Natalie and Michael. They’re both runners so of course Michael would propose to Natalie during one of their runs along Town Lake. The couple’s dog, Tyson, met us in that exact location and stole the show for a very brief period, using this stunning couple as props in his selfie. How cute is he?

Natalie is going to make such a stunning bride and I’m looking forward to being there on their wedding day in June!
